Cocoa Vaseline

Cosmetic benefits: softens and moisturises dry areas of the skin, especially the feet, heels, elbows and knees.

Uses of vaseline for the face and hair:

• To moisturise the skin: Moisturising is one of the best-known uses of cocoa vaseline. It can be used on the face and body to moisturise dry skin. For the best results, apply it directly to the skin right after bathing.
• To remove make-up: An effective and economical way to remove make-up, taking care to keep it away from the eye area.
• For hair ends: Sun, wind and swimming can dry out the hair. Vaseline can reduce the look of damaged ends and add a glossy touch to the hair: put a small amount on your hands, then smooth it over the ends.
• While dyeing hair: Applied along the hairline, it acts as a barrier that stops the dye from staining the skin, and is easy to wipe off afterwards.

Note: When used on hair it can leave a greasy look, so wash the hair thoroughly with shampoo. A teaspoon of baking soda can be added to the shampoo to remove any residue.
